Welcome to Little Green Rascals

York's First Organic Day Nursery

Welcome to Little Green Rascals Children’s Organic Day Nurseries.  We have just opened our newest day nursery at 312 Tadcaster Road to complement the nursery that we opened on Elvington Lane in 2009.

The last five years have been the most fantastic ever!  Lots of learnings, adventures and sheer inspiration.  At the heart of everything we do at Little Green Rascals is the care and nurturing of our Rascals.

Every member of our wonderful team strive each and every day to go that bit further in giving the children in our care – a most fantastic day!  Be it in the Forest, doing art, playing, cooking or looking after our animals.  We want to negate that guilt felt by parents when leaving their precious ones in childcare.  We are here to answer any questions, to guide and support and to listen when you have suggestions or worries.

My family and I are woven into the sheer substance of Little Green Rascals – it is most definitely a family affair.  We all feel very blessed to have met and worked with so many amazing families and staff.  I believe passionately that running a good business is impossible without ensuring that high ethical standards are practised at every level of the company’s day-to-day running.

I think that businesses should act responsibly with a moral code of conduct – driven by strong values and a sense of contribution towards society, not just focused on money, growth and greed. Little Green Rascals believes that it is possible to run a successful business that has a positive impact on society. Its philosophy has its roots in the following values:

  • treating staff and producers fairly
  • respecting the environment
  • championing a sustainable way of life
  • doing business with small, independent producers
  • forging strong links with the local community
  • we do not practice tough love – snuggles are the essential

Please explore our site, enjoy the information – if there is anything at all you need to know please do get in touch.  We are here to support you and your family and make sure that looking for and starting a nursery is a pleasure.
