Little Green Rascals is the North of England’s first totally Organic
Children’s Day Nursery and we’re now open!
Thank
you to everyone for all their hard work in creating what we believe is a
fantastic Nursery facility in a truly unique setting. We’re now up and running and already have

Vanessa
Warn is mum of two boys (9 & 7) and a girl aged 3 and has recently qualified
as a Homeopath. She has a degree in
Business Studies and Marketing. To
open an organic nursery has been a dream for some time now – encouraged by
her frustration at the lack of organic childcare facilities locally. Tracey Brooks, also a mum of three 2 girls
(12 & 7) and 1 boy 3, is a qualified nurse and already owns a successful

Our Ethos
Little
Green Rascals Nursery is a Private Day Nursery providing full day care with a
huge focus on the wonderful outdoors - ensuring that your child will learn, develop
and be challenged in the most natural and diverse ways.
Our
core aim is to provide the very best possible education and loving care within
a warm, nurturing and natural environment.
A vibrant and natural learning space inside and out, where children are
challenged and can develop as individuals, at their own pace. Our natural environment and highly qualified,
professional staff will provide support, comfort and quality for children in
their most formative years.
We
will ensure that all their needs are met and challenged through the vast array
of educational and stimulating resources and equipment. The varied activities
and experiences on offer will provide every opportunity to extend and build on
physical, intellectual, linguistic, emotional and social skills - enabling the
children in our care to reach their full potential.
Healthy
bodies are also an important part of our mission, our children will eat
wholesome organic foods and drinks prepared from scratch in our kitchen. Our babies never eat from a jar or packet,
as all of our baby food will be prepared freshly on-site each day. Our children
will learn how to prepare healthy meals through our in-house organic cooking
and gardening programme, promoting a healthy diet for life from an early age.
Is
not just about organic food! Little
Green Rascals will be a state of the art facility. All nursery waste will be re-used and
recycled. All cleaning products are natural and eco friendly, our nappies will
be biodegradable and all creams made
from natural products. The nursery has
been designed to offer interchangeable space with free flow areas to offer the
children freedom of movement.
