Our Nurseries

Our Security

Entrusting us with the safety and security of your rascal is a responsibility we take incredibly seriously here at Little Green Rascals. We adhere to strict policies and procedures on a daily basis to ensure that security is tight at all times.

To enter the nursery grounds, parents and carers are given access using a state of the art key-fob system accompanied by their own unique code. This code and fob system cannot be replicated and ensures that only parents of our rascals are able to enter the site during the course of the nursery day to enable a smooth drop-off and pick-up.

Visitors to the nursery must use the intercom system to make their presence known. They can be clearly seen and heard using a video and sound link to the staff inside.
Visitors are then met at the front door of the building by a member of staff where they must show identification and sign into the visitors log. Visitors are also required to wear a lanyard – which is a clear indication to other members of staff that they are an authorised visitor. Visitors are escorted around the premises at all times. We ensure that all visitors leave their mobile phones in reception.

All staff – irrelevant of their position at Little Green Rascals – are subject to an Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check (previously known as the CRB – Criminal Records Bureau Check). This is a check for spent and unspent criminal convictions, cautions, reprimands, final warnings plus any additional information held by police that’s considered relevant to the post applied for. Previous employer references are also applied for to cover the last two years (all gaps in employment must be accounted for).

During outings we maintain way above the recommended adult to child ratio appropriate to the children’s age range. Children are given wristbands detailing the nursery telephone number and high-visibility vests are worn by all children in our care.

In order for us to operate our Forest School, and attend trips out – we must drive our rascals. This is with the use of our very own minibus and also (at times) our team members' personal vehicles. We ensure that all the necessary and relevant insurances and licences are held, and checks are completed.
